Hello friends! I am originally from a small town in Massachusetts and have been living in CT for over a year with my fiancé. A bit about me: I am a spirited and sassy 27 year old recently engaged vegetarian part time grad student dog loving aspiring writer who enjoys “good talks” and people with a lot of substance and a sense of humor. I am the typical Aquarius - a free spirit who doesn't like to be tied down unless its on my own terms. People never scare me - elevators do. As the first born in my family and named after a soap opera star from "All My Children," I am quietly competitive, an overachiever, highly sensitive, a tad literal and very gullible and enjoy confrontation in order to create space for peace. I have a lot to say but try to think before I speak - my fiance would argue this to be true. I'm the loud one in museums and ask too many questions during movies, some of which include: "why did he say that?" or "can you explain that to me?" Since childhood I’ve struggled with math and love public speaking. Weird? Id’ rather get up in front of an audience of 300 then attempt a long division problem. Growing up I always wanted to be on television (I owe this to my Mom, I guess) and majored in Broadcast Journalism in college. The only problem with that was I didn’t even like the news. My heart doesn’t skip a beat over Lindsay Lohan and the like, although you can find me reading a good gossip story at the checkout aisle. Since Sallie Mae wasn’t shy from contacting me after I graduated, I decided to pursue a career in broadcast media sales. Sure, media sales was like my “safety school” – a second choice career that afforded me not only the ability to pay Sallie and some of her friends, but most importantly the chance to discover categories. These “categories” of Health & Wellness, Education, Career, Finance, Home Improvement and the Environment grew into deeper passions. I am a bit of an information junkie and love sharing with those who share in my passion! I should have been a kindergarden teacher or a recreation softball coach where everyone gets a turn. Five and a half years later I was ready to move on from media sales in order to discover my true core which as all along been writing. I love finding out more about people’s stories: who they are, what makes them excited to get up in the morning, what are their pet peeves, do they enjoy an oversized chocolate cake as much as I do? By day, I work in marketing within the Publishing Industry, but my goal is to build a writing portfolio. Hence, here I am ready to get started! Thanks for reading!
