Biography

I needed to perfect Spanish, fast, so I enrolled in a four-month teaching program sponsored by the U.N. English Opens Doors Program right after graduation, and bought a plane ticket to Chile. I decided to head to South America a month early and backpack while the U.N. was deciding where and what grade I would teach. And in that month I made plans to head back to last summer's stomping grounds, Ayacucho, Peru, with donations for the people at my old volunteer placement. I think the best way to travel is really to stay in another country for a long time and meet the people who make it unique. My motto when backpacking: try to blend, but leave a footprint. Oh and for the next four months, kindly refer to me as Teresa...my latina name.
