As of June 29, 2009, the city of Charleston is offering free prescription discount cards to all residents regardless of income or current health insurance. The card will provide, on average, a 20 percent discount on all commonly prescribed drugs. The card can be used at over 100 pharmacies in the community and at over 59,000 pharmacies nationwide.
