dream job

Friday, June, 20, 2008

Not only would it be the most amazing thing ever, hands down, to work at NPR (it’s only slightly ahead of the NYT for large companies that I would actually love to work for) how awesome would it be to have a job as a contributor here?

NPR’s Summer Books 2008 Contributor: Job Responsibilities

---Creating recommended reading lists with titles including, but not limited to: ‘Booksellers' Selections for Summer Afternoons,’ ‘Summer Books to Feed Your Literary Addiction’ and ‘Fiction Picks for Your Mental Getaway.’

---Writing columns for the ‘Three Books’ section (must find and review three books on a common theme such as ‘Three Books About Sand and Sun’ and ‘Three Books About Blood...And Brains.’)

---Write specific reviews of summer  books including interviews with authors, to be included in ‘You Must Read’ recommended reading section.

---Also must be willing to pitch feature ideas for Summer Books 2008, to be seen on the main Summer Books 2008 website on NPR.org.

---And it goes without saying that you must be responsible for any and all books published this summer, from cookbooks to graphic novels, as well as keeping aware of the current authors on tour; be willing to arrange interviews with them.

Holy cow...I need to add this to my list of dream jobs.
