she`s so skirt!
Fran Grossman is on the set.
“I think it’s just in my blood,” Fran says about her interest in the entertainment world. Her great-grandfather ran the sideshow for Barnum & Bailey’s Circus in the early 1900s, and went on to own a string of movie theatres, “My grandmother played piano during the silent films.” Her great-uncle was a star of his father’s sideshow: a dwarf with the stage name of “The Little Russian Prince.” Today, Fran is living her dream working as a production assistant for TV shows such as American Idol and Army Wives. Fran realized she wanted to work in film in her 30s. “I wanted to fulfill that dream in me, and I was just going to find a way to get it.” She began reading books on the industry and joined the South Carolina Film Commission. Thanks to Fran’s knowledge of Charleston, both geographically and socially, she soon began getting jobs behind the scenes on music videos, television, and whatever other project of interest came through town. “I just love being part of the creative process,” Fran says.
