Brooke Brunson | Set Decoration Buyer

Brooke's eye for the just-right knick knack or piece of art makes Claudia Joy's living room look like an authentic Army wife abode, complete with Skirt! on the JC Penny coffee table. While Charleston-based Army Wives is her first job for TV, Brooke has decorated movie sets around the world, from stringing pig carcasses around a cannibal village on a muddy Dominican hilltop for Pirates of theCaribbean, to finding Richmond's finest antiques for John Adams. The irony doesn't escape her: "It's funny," she notes, "for a girl who grew up with no TV."Or movies, or running water or electricity or home décor shops for that matter. From age two through junior high, Brooke lived on the tiny island of Bequia (pronounced Beckway), accessible only by boat from St. Vincent in the Grenadines. After high school and college in the states, she's been a set design nomad, but is happy staying put in Charleston (her birthplace), at least for a while. "Bequia, though, will always be home."
