sabrina and i spent thursday at the amazing health expo! for those of you that stopped by to say “hello!” to us at our table, thanks! we met so many amazing women and interesting characters that i can’t even mention them all. we handed out gazillions of crazy sexy cancer tips books, tons of magazines, and most of all, chocolate.

sabrina, at our festive table!
we quickly made friends with our table neighbors: on the left, some upbeat ladies from roper who wanted some crazy sexy cancers for their support library, and on the right, women with funny hand-held lung testers.
well you know after watching enough people blow into a piece of plastic while the breathing cheerleaders pumped you up (”take a deeeeep breath! deeeeeeep breath!” “okay now BLOWITOUTBLOWITOUTBLOWITOUTASFASTASYOUCAN!” “okay, deeeeeeeeeep breath!”), sabrina and i had to try it.

i was actually really nervous.
good news: i have no tumors or unusual lung statistics, even though if i run more than 35 feet i am ready to collapse and die. although, i will admit that sabrina had higher numbers... it’s something like above 50 is good, and sabrina got like 117 and i got 108.
THEN! as people filtered out of the fair to attend their next “class” (it was a very cyclical crowd), i ventured over to the glucose/cholesterol testing table. luckily i am not as woosy as some people, so when the first blood sample didn’t work, i happily willed my left hand to build up some blood for another test.
more good news: i have very low total cholesterol, however, probably because i ate a bagel + cream cheese + paper-bag-flavored coffee + 2 creams and a sugar, my triglycerides and glucose were not too hot.
in general, i am healthy-ish. hurray amazing health expo!
