because i am nikki is very fabulous and well-known in this city, skirt! received two passes to the famous city paper “best of” partay. unfortunately, i did not win “best once-a-week-i-swear-i-will-write-more blogger” or even the more obvious, “best shoes.” but anywho, the party was zombie-themed and our toe tag invites suggested we dress in zombie attire. to me, this means i should wear eye liner and a black dress... like almost every other party i attend. oh, and great shoes.
so the party was HUGE and it was in the bus shed. yeah, we have parties in bus sheds here.

The Bus Shed is a real place, though it is a real bus shed. it’s where the tour buses park and pick people up, and it’s behind the visitor’s center. so last night they did it all up with smoke machines and graveyard-y things, a handful of bars (but who runs out of vodka one hour into a party?), gazillions of food tables where even chai himself was serving chai’s mini burgers (duh, why did i eat dinner before i went?!), and a stage where we got to see cabaret kiki (weeeeeee! cabaret kiki!!!!!).

here are myself, intern gervase, and sabrina. i admit, we all look a little weird in this picture, but of the 5 we attempted to take, this is actually the least visually offensive of the bunch. and if this were a full body shot, you would see that we all have on super duper sexy shoes. you would also see that my black tshirt is really a black tshirt dress, which makes a huge difference. oh yeah and my scarfy thing is really a sweater that i last minute tied around my neck and pinned so i wouldn’t freeze.
all in all, good times! i finally got to see cabaret kiki, stayed up way past 9pm (11!) and got to schmooze with randoms who were also suffering from what!-no-vodka? syndrome. brava city paper! ...you can set me up with that award next year.
