so this weekend, not only did i stay awake past 9 pm, i didn’t even go out till like 10 pm... i might as well have parted the red sea.
one of my musically masterful friends was in town and playing a show at johnson’s, a pub off of the market area. as usual, taylor was brilliant and to this day is one of the only people whose bands i really enjoy live – it never sounds like crazy i’m-still-tuning-my-instruments wailing – it actually sounds like music.
anyway, the odd thing about saturday night was that there were “paparazzi” at the pub. now, when i used to live in the charlotte suburbs, we had lazyday, which was a group of photographers that traversed the hotspots looking for exposed breasts and... exposed breasts. apparently, charleston has now spawned two new paparazzi groups: lhentertainment and charleston paparazzi.
i mean, did people already know this? am i way behind?
so my friends and i posed for two pictures which are now floating around the world wide web. i went to the sites this morning to see if i had blinked or if my dress was see through, and i found something much more provocative and offensive than a bare boobie. this ad:

my first thought was that kevin federlines bong needed an apostrophe (federline’s bong) since it was showing ownership.
my next thought was WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!!!!!!
this website gets more hits than TINA TURNER?
i mean, i don’t know, isn’t that, um, not funny? domestic violence – not actually funny haha, more like are you mental for thinking that was in good taste? i mean kevin federline’s bong, that’s funny haha. bong, ha, that’s even a funny word. domestic violence, completely unhilarious.
just this weekend in dallas, a young mother was found shot to death in her apartment. guess who is in custody? the father of her child. what about lance cpl. maria lauterbach? detectives recently found what appeared to be “burnt human remains” in the backyard of a fellow marine she had earlier accused of rape. who could forget jessie marie davis of ohio, who was murdered by her son’s father while the 2 year old was at home.
from endabuse.org,while women are less likely than men to be victims of violent crimes overall, women are five to eight times more likely than men to be victimized by an intimate partner. on average, more than three women are murdered by their husbands or boyfriends in this country every day. In 2000, 1,247 women were killed by an intimate partner. pregnant and recently pregnant women are more likely to be victims of homicide than to die of any other cause.
